Precise control, better alignment…

Reclaim Your Active Life!
Freedom From Knee Pain

Why UniPlasty®?

Precise. Adjustable. Implant-Free.

UniPlasty® represents a new generation in deformity correction designed around the principle of controlled, gradual elevation of the bone to realign the leg with natural biomechanics.

Through its adjustable hinge system, UniPlasty® allows surgeons to fine-tune angular  alignment in real time literally “jacking up” the bone with precision and safety.

What is Varus Deformity (Bow Legs)?

Varus deformity, commonly known as bowlegs, occurs when the knees remain apart while the ankles touch.

While often dismissed as a cosmetic issue, orthopedic specialists emphasize that genu varum can have long-term consequences. Misalignment shifts the body’s mechanical load toward the inner side of the knee, leading to joint overload, cartilage wear, chronic pain, and early-onset osteoarthritis.

Straight, well-aligned legs are not just about appearance they are essential for joint health, balance, and mobility.

Who Is UniPlasty® For?

UniPlasty® is ideal for patients with knee malalignment, including varus deformity (bowlegs), who wish to:

  • Correct bowlegs (genu varum) with precision and control.
  • Preserve their natural knee joint, avoiding permanent implants like plates or screws.
  • Choose a minimally invasive alternative to traditional osteotomy.
  • Avoid a second surgery for hardware removal.
  • Prioritize cosmetic results with smaller scars and faster healing.
  • Maintain an active lifestyle and return to normal activities quickly.

Why Correction Matters

Leaving varus deformity untreated can lead to:

  • Uneven joint load distribution
  • Progressive cartilage damage
  • Early knee degeneration
  • Altered gait and poor posture

Correcting alignment promotes joint longevity, optimal biomechanics, and improved function setting a foundation for lifelong mobility.

No plates. No screws. No leftovers.

With UniPlasty®, there are no permanent implants left behind, no plates, no screws, and no need for hardware removal later.

Once healing is complete, what remains is your own bone fully restored, stable, and naturally aligned.

Treatment Timeline

The total duration of UniPlasty® correction varies depending on patient age and the degree of deformity but typically spans 3–4 months.

Treatment Phases:

  1. Planning & Surgery: Day 0
  2. Waiting Phase: ~5–7 days before correction begins
  3. Gradual Correction: Approximately 1° per day over 7–14 days
  4. Bone Consolidation: ~2–3 months for bone regeneration and strengthening

Patients typically walk with support during the first month and are encouraged to resume daily activities early in the recovery process.

Better Alignment. Stronger Function.

By restoring the mechanical axis and redistributing load evenly across the joint, UniPlasty® helps preserve native cartilage, improve function, and delay or prevent degenerative changes especially valuable for younger, active patients.

Proven Outcomes: HTO Survivorship

Clinical data from Medial Opening Wedge High Tibial Osteotomy (MOWHTO) demonstrate excellent long-term results with approximately 87% survivorship at 10 years for patients treated for varus malalignment and medial knee osteoarthritis.

For many, this means delaying or even avoiding total knee replacement (TKA) maintaining mobility, comfort, and quality of life for years.

The UniPlasty® Philosophy

Plan precisely. Correct gradually. Restore naturally.

UniPlasty® embodies a modern, patient-centered approach allowing surgeons to customize alignment correction while helping patients return quickly to normal, active living with confidence and balance.
